The Algorithm Department is an independent R&D team composed of a team of PhDs owned by Jnchip (Hong Kong), currently working on algorithm development in several fields, including Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS), Brushless DC Motor Control System, Power Battery Management System and IoT Positioning System.

Automatic Fingerprint Identification System(AFIS)

Humans have a long history of using fingerprints as a means of identification, and the legitimacy is widely recognized. Automatic fingerprint recognition involves many disciplines such as image processing, pattern recognition, computer vision, mathematical morphology and wavelet analysis, etc. The research includes fingerprint acquisition, fingerprint classification, fingerprint detail feature extraction and fingerprint matching.

Jnchip (Hong Kong)'s AFIS contains 7 modules, which are image and background separation, direction information extraction, stripe line extraction, image binarization, image refinement and stripe line repair, detail feature extraction and fingerprint matching. The algorithms involved include adaptive local threshold image separation method, improved algorithm of predefined direction approximation method and Rao method, image enhancement algorithm based on Gabor function, adaptive local threshold binarization algorithm, integrated algorithm combining fast refinement algorithm and improved OPTA algorithm, non-thorough refinement fingerprint detail feature extraction algorithm, fingerprint detail feature extraction based on stripe line tracking and point pattern matching algorithm based on feature point coordinate model, etc.
Brushless DC Motor Control System

The Algorithm Department of Jnchip (Hong Kong) is committed to developing a fully digital brushless DC motor controller, using the inherent high-speed computing power of DSP and other chips for position sensor-less control of the motor, and completing the traditional PID analog circuit, signal processing circuit and logic judgment circuit through software to further reduce the size of the system hardware circuit and improve the reliability and efficiency of the system.

With the increasing requirements of modern industry on motor performance, the next step of Jnchip (Hong Kong) will be placed on improving the performance of brushless DC motors by using various advanced control strategies, which includes fuzzy control, neural network control, variable structure control, robust control and parameter adaptive control, etc.

The Jnchip (Hong Kong) Power Battery Management System contains dynamic modeling of power batteries, charge state estimation, health state estimation, peak power prediction, remaining life prediction, low temperature fast heating and optimized charging, and corresponding core algorithms.
IOT Positioning System

Positioning and positioning-based navigation technologies have a pivotal role in modern life, playing an increasingly important role in military defense, ship navigation, port management, warehouse management, factory production, intelligent transportation, smart cities, smart hospitals, home care, large shopping malls, and daily life.

Jnchip (Hong Kong)'s IOT positioning system contains two types of basic positioning algorithms, which are range-based positioning algorithms and non-range-based positioning algorithms. The range-based localization algorithms include TOA-based localization, TDOA-based localization, RSSI-based localization, trilateral localization, triangular localization and maximum likelihood method; the non-range-based localization algorithms include approximation method, Centroid algorithm, APIT algorithm, convex programming algorithm, APS localization algorithm and location fingerprinting algorithm, etc.

Jnchip (Hong Kong)'s IoT localization system includes advanced algorithms such as chance localization, compression-based perception localization and passive localization, and realizes filtering processing and non-visual range processing for target localization, etc.

In addition, Jnchip (Hong Kong) is also committed to the development of special scenario positioning system, covering coal mine scenario, underwater scenario and disaster relief scenario, etc.
