Lithium-ion battery safety charging management
 

Li-ion battery and USB charging are common charging methods used in portable devices. Charging control and safety protection are the focus and they require accurate voltage detection within ±1%. Typically, most solutions use dedicated Li-ion battery charge management chips, involving additional cost and complexity. With the RA2A1 microcontroller and its high-precision analog processing capability, it integrates Li-ion battery charge and discharge management to precisely monitor and manage voltage and current.
This design features a 500mAHr Li-ion battery with the following charging functions:

5V PWM control and LC filtering circuit (controlled DCDC buck circuit)

Battery and USB/LDO voltage monitoring

Battery charge current monitoring

Battery temperature monitoring
